Awful awful place. We booked for a stay in Dec 2020. We were due to stay here for two nights and then to Austria for seven. Just as we were about to fly out Austria was shut due to covid, then Germany. As Germany was only going to close the second day of our stay, the hotel said we should fly over and stay the day and then return home the following when we would be kicked out of the country due to covid and so refused to refund our stay. We had young children and so we lost two nights of accommodation with no refund. When we called and emailed they were incredibly rude, not remotely understanding and had a zero refund policy during covid. WOULD NEVER STAY here.

The location is ideal, with easy access to hiking trails. My room was clean, lovely, and had a balcony overlooking the Saale River. Breakfast was most impressive, and dinners in the restaurant were excellent. The staff was exceedingly helpful, and humored me with my mediocre command of the German language. I was able to rent an E-bike and see a lot of beautiful scenery. It is such a peaceful place!

Das Hotel befindet sich direkt an der Saale. Die Zimmer sind ordentlich und sauber. Die Bodenbelege sowie die Bodenfliesen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und der Hotelchef gibt gerne Infos zu Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Frühstcksbuffet und die drei Gänge zum Abendbrot waren sehr gut.

Wir waren am Wochenende hier und hatten eine Ferienwohnung, optimal für Familie mit Kindern. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und gut in Schuss, die Zimmer bequem, Badezimmer sehr gut, Betten bequem,, Heizung sehr gut….hervorzuheben ist die Verpflegung - insbesondere a la Carte sowie die Getränke waren ausserordentlich gut - dafür ist der Preis in Ordnung. Sehr gepflegtes Restaurant mit schönem Ambiente, tolle Torten, sehr freundlicher Service. Das ist eine klare Empfehlung wert.

Via een hotelbemiddelaar dit hotel geboekt met HP. Onze ervaring: Hotel ligt mooi gelegen aan de Saale. Erg mooie, grote en zeer goed onderhouden kamer en badkamer die elke dag zeer goed onderhouden werd. De eigenaar is zeer behulpzaam en attent. Goede ontvangst van de sympathieke dame van de receptie die de klanten met raad bijstaat. Bediening en onderhoudspersoneel is zeer vriendelijk. Ontbijt was omvangrijk met lekkere Thüringen vleeswaren. Parkeerplaatsen net voor of naast het hotel zijn snel volzet. Gelukkig zijn er aan de overkant van de oever nog enige parkeerplaatsen. Het 3 gangen-diner is een burgerlijke keuken met steeds soep als voorgerecht. We waren er vier dagen en de allerlaatste avond vonden wij het superlekker. De dagen ervoor waren de maaltijden goed voorbereid maar niet zo onze smaak. Misschien een andere kok ? Al bij al een goede prijs kwaliteitverhouding.

Das Hotel Am Schlossberg ist perfekt gelegen unterhalb vom Schloss, eingebettet zwischen Hügeln direkt an der Saale und direkt um die Ecke vom alten Stadtzentrum - also der ideale Ausgangspunkt für viele schöne Entdeckungen. Das Hotel selbst ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, jedoch merkten wir, dass die neuen Betreiber mit sehr viel Liebe und Elan an die Aufgabe gehen, einen ganz besonderen Ort daraus zu machen. Unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon Richtung Saale, wir hatten Halbpension gebucht und waren mit allen Mahlzeiten sehr zufrieden, auch die Sauna haben wir genutzt, und der Hotelchef hat uns engagiert alle möglichen Wandertips gegeben. Super fanden wir auch den Beutel, mit dem wir uns am Dienstagmorgen ganz legal am Frühstücksbuffet ein Lunchpaket packen durften - eine sehr durchdachte kleine Überraschung, die uns das Gefühl gegeben hat, hier gut umsorgt zu sein. Wir wünschen den Betreibern viele nette Gäste und finanziellen Rückenwind, um alle ihre Ideen umsetzen zu können. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.
