"An adequate hotel for a solo traveler."

"Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory and I would like to share my impressions: Room condition and obsolescence: The rooms looked shabby and were clearly outdated. Clogged toilet: It is annoying when basic amenities like the toilet do not work properly. A clogged toilet should not happen in a hotel. Pillow comfort: The pillows were small and way too high. A good night's sleep is important and uncomfortable pillows do not contribute to that. Breakfast: The price of 17 francs for breakfast is not justified in my opinion. The quality of the food offered left a lot to be desired and it seemed like a lot of it was artificial and not fresh. Value for money: I paid 150 francs for an overnight stay including breakfast, which is clearly too high considering the shortcomings mentioned. The value for money here is not right at all. As a paying guest, I expect reasonable quality and a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I can only advise other travelers not to stay at the hotel."

"Great view"

"Came to reconnect with the region of my ancestors. Even if you don't have personal connection to Zofingen/Strengelbach, it's an historic Swiss area worth visiting. And Hotel Engel/Amadeo (partner hotel spaces) is a central perch from which to see it. The old town of Zofingen is small and easily walkable from the hotel, with cute shops, good food, and quaint old buildings nearby. Sensitive to noise, I found the hotel far enough away from the central church to not be bothered by its regular chiming. Room was spacious and water pressure strong. Even on temperate days, Switzerland hotel rooms (which rarely offer AC) can be stuffy. I could leave my windows open--even with the rain without the room getting wet--and the hotel provided a standing fan which additionally helps with air flow. Whether relatively few people were staying there or there is superior insulation, I don't know. But I enjoyed a blessedly quiet room. Friendly staff, ample breakfast, and sundries for 24/7 purchase too."
