The hotel was clean enough and the rooms well appointed for the price. Check in was efficient and the ambience pleasant. However, the attitude of two serving staff (on to the adjacent patio) was slow, rude and way below the expected standard of Mercure Hotels. Eight times they avoided serving our table - walking past several times and turning their backs to avoid our gaze. Our drinks order was eventually taken by Oliver, the service manager, some 10 minutes after we were seated. When we asked to pay, instead of bringing us the bill, we were told to 'go to the bar'. This was our 4th time as guests of this hotel, but after this experience, this will most definitely be our last. As silver card holders of this chain we expected better service!
