Anuradhapura B&Bs

We had a wonderful stay at The Rajarata Hotel in Anuradhapura, for the last couple of days on our 20 day trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful with any request we had. Manoj was a very helpful waiter. He made sure we had everything we needed and was very attentive to our needs. The food was plentiful, tasty and beautifully presented. We enjoyed our swims in the pool.

The Hotel is a small and cosy 4 rooms newly renovated villa and was kept clean and well maintained. Mahinda who was the receptionist, cook, and was one man show was friendly and flexible. A real gentleman! The hotel room is large in size, clean and basic with Bathroom with hot shower! The electric shower is not connected to the overhead shower, so the hot water comes out of the handheld shower and not the overhead shower. To run on the electric shower you just need to the inlet valve. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Overall I would recommend this hotel !! Enjoy 😊

The hotel is located in Anuradhapura, with beautiful pagoda ruins visible across a large lake. The environment of the hotel is quite beautiful, and the swimming pool is also very good. The supply of buffet breakfast is not stable. We stayed for 4 nights in a row. Breakfast was buffet breakfast on two days and set meal on two days. The explanation given by the hotel was that the buffet breakfast was not open because the tour bus had left and there were too few people. Anyway, it’s quite interesting to have a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. Picture 1 is the set breakfast we had (the portions were huge), and Pictures 2 and 3 are the buffet breakfast.
