The most important parish church in Orihuela

The Cathedral of Salvador is the most important parish church in Orihuela. It was built in the first half of the 14th century on the site of the Al Jama Mosque. It is Gothic in style and was built as a cathedral in 1564 when the city received the bishopric. It has a Latin cross floor plan and three access doors: the Gothic Las Cárdenas and Loreto, and the Renaissance-style La Anunciación. The Museum of Religious Art is also located within the cathedral.
