Ankara Castle

Ankara Castle is one of the places to see in Ankara. It has a nice view of the city that you can see most of the central places around. The castle has many souvenir shops and traditional Ankara houses inside. All was restored thanks to Altindag municipality. There are also cafes and restaurants inside the castle. When the castle was made is not known exactly. There aren't armors around the walls which means that you must be very careful while you are at the upper part. The historic neighborhood within the old walls can be divided into two parts. One where money has been pumped in to restore the historic buildings and draw tourists. This area is centred on the road between the main gate and the citadel. The rest of this neighborhood is quite poor but oozes a authentic historic charm.
