Hidden Leaf Matcha opens during Songkran

We haven’t visited Hidden Leaf Matcha in months, so we took the opportunity to return during Songkran and found that the shop is still open. Luckily, this visit wasn’t in vain—we got to enjoy some delicious matcha! During Songkran, the shop tends to be busier than usual, but the wait wasn’t long. This time, we noticed a significant difference: there are more matcha options than before. We chose three drinks—two pure matcha and one matcha latte. Pure Matcha with Water: 1. Hidden Leaf Mizu: The shop describes it as having a soup-like flavor—bright and well-rounded. When we tried it, we found it delicious, with a subtle bitterness and a green tea essence. It’s the kind of drink you can sip on all day. 2. Hidden Leaf Yabukita: The shop says it has a mellow nutty flavor. For us, the taste wasn’t very pronounced—light and clear, with a familiar Yabukita profile. It doesn’t leave much of an aftertaste, making it a good choice for those who prefer milder flavors. Matcha Latte with Milk: 1. Hidden Leaf Blend 01: This one was delightful and distinct from typical matcha lattes. It has a nutty flavor and leaves a smooth, well-rounded taste in your mouth. Definitely a winner! Next time we visit, if we’re in the mood for pure matcha, we’ll go for Mizu. And if we’re craving a matcha latte, Blend 01 will be our pick. These two options feel perfect for us, so much so that we don’t feel the need to try anything else.
