Visiting Wat Chan Pradittharam for merit-making

Every year from April 13th to 15th, Wat Chan Pradittharam facilitates the ceremony of offering robes to the deceased whose ashes are kept at the temple, dedicating merit to ancestors. Families traditionally visit the temple during this time to make merit and perform the water-pouring ritual on the sacred Buddha statue, known as Luang Phor Khao. The temple provides water bowls for the ritual and prepares four sets of robes for monks, with a donation of 200 THB going directly to the temple. Families can also bring additional offerings such as flowers, incense, candles, and monetary donations for the monks. For those passing through Soi Phetkasem 48, you are welcome to stop by to make merit or donate for fuel. The street is lively with people joyfully splashing water to celebrate Songkran.
