Chengdu trip in early spring🌸

Chengdu is always a welcoming and fun city to visit, but the best time to go is definitely in Spring. Not too hot and cold, yet, just good enough to indulge yourself with local delicacies that are usually known as 麻辣 (a.k.a ‘numbing’ spicy, and oh yeah, be prepared to sweat.... like a lot💦). For the first time visitors, I highly recommend checking out these three places at least: 1) Kuanzhai Alley (寬窄巷子), 2) Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (成都大熊貓繁育研究基地), and Chen Ma-Wen Tofu Place (陳麻雯豆腐). Kuanzhai Alley is very much like Tianzifang (田子坊) in Shanghai or Nanluoguxiang (南鑼鼓巷) in Beijing. An old alley where you can sneak-peak at the architecture of the Tang Dynasty. You can spend hours at this place to try some street food, sit in a quiet courtyard of an ancient tea house, clean your ears at the street stall (yup, that’s right, CLEAN your ear wax on the street😆), or simply just to get souvenirs to bring back home. Of course, one of the biggest reasons why people travel to Chengdu is to see the giant panda, especially those on a family trip. I highly recommend getting the entrance tickets in advance via trip.com to avoid waiting in lines when you get there, and definitely go in the morning! Pandas… all they do is eat and sleep. Go in the morning to see pandas in action. Last but not least, I am a food lover myself. So whenever I travel whether that is for business and/or leisure, need to check out the authentic local food. And here it is, Chen Ma-Wen Tofu Place. You will taste the best and one-of-a-kind Mapo Tofu in this place if you haven’t tried it yet. Gosh, the best!!!!! They have a couple of stores throughout the city, so check the closest location before your visit. Make sure that you get there near the opening hours or after lunch hour, otherwise, be ready to get in a line.
