Don't miss this ancient-style park full of flowering crabapples when you visit Chengdu in March.

In Shuangliu, Chengdu, Tanghu Park is like a warm, moist piece of ancient jade, solidifying the charm of the Tang and Song dynasties into an unfading ink scroll. This 200+ acre garden museum has a lake covering over 70 acres, planted with various crabapple trees. Pavilions, terraces, towers, and more than ten stone arch bridges are distributed along the lake and canals. People strolling through the park can touch the exquisite magic of classical Chinese architecture as the scenery changes with each step. The iconic Xunfeng Tower and Jiang Wan Shrine are also located within the park. Currently, two pink crabapple trees are in full bloom in the park, one at the main entrance and one inside. Some weeping crabapples are also blooming, but the park is mostly filled with deep red crabapples and some purple leaf plums. In summer and autumn, the park's bamboo forest is deep and serene, but spring in March, when the park is full of color, is the most beautiful time of year in my opinion. I'll come back in a few days when the weeping crabapples are at their peak!
