Eryanping Trail

Eryanping Trail is located between Shizhao and Alishan, and it’s my favorite route combining "sea of clouds + cherry blossoms." Walking this trail on a spring morning allows you to enjoy the cascading cloud waterfalls flowing through the valleys while passing through sections surrounded by cherry blossoms, creating an illusion of being amidst a cloud-filled sea of flowers. Although the cherry blossoms here are not as dense as those in the park, the scenery formed by the interplay of mist, tea plantations, and bamboo forests is particularly layered. I highly recommend starting at the entrance around 5 a.m. and walking to the second viewing platform, which takes about 30–40 minutes. It’s not physically demanding, but you’ll be rewarded with magnificent mountain views and the changing colors of the sky. Along the way, you might occasionally spot mountain birds and butterflies fluttering among the cherry blossoms, adding delightful surprises to the journey. If you love photography, nature, and want to avoid crowds, Eryanping Trail is definitely one of your dream destinations.
