Chicago travel guide.

Chicago|Hidden Gems (1) |||1) Holy Trinity Polish Church 1118 N Noble St, Chicago, IL 60642, USA I highly recommend taking the Blue Line to Division to see this church. So far, it's the most beautiful and Roman-style church I've seen in North America (p1-4). The hymns and the light streaming in gave me a sense of sanctity for the first time (thanks to the Polish Museum staff for recommending it, the best attraction of this trip). 2) St Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church 1351 W Evergreen Ave, Chicago, IL 60642, USA It's on the same street as Holy Trinity Church, very close. This is the oldest Polish church in Chicago, and it's also beautiful (p5-7). 3) Polish Museum of America 984 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60642, USA As the city with the largest Polish population outside of Poland (800,000 Polish descendants in the metropolitan area), Chicago's Polish churches and museums are fascinating. The museum itself has many exhibits and is very cost-effective. After buying the ticket, the staff introduced Polish Town and told me where to start the tour and which floor to go to. They were very attentive. When I left, they gave me a bunch of stuff and told me that the two Polish churches next door have a lot of history (they even told me where to park for free). I can say that they were the most angelic staff I've ever met after visiting a bunch of museums (because as an Asian face, it's so rare to visit this museum that when I bought the ticket, the staff asked me in Polish if I spoke Polish. My poor Polish actually understood the sentence, but I could only tell him in English that I did, but only a little. To prove this, I tried very hard to remember the words "thank you" and "goodbye," which became the only two Polish words in our conversation). As a result, another visitor asked me if I had Polish blood because I was young and Asian and didn't seem to have a reason to visit. I said sorry, I really don't, and I don't look like I do either. The intersection of Milwaukee Ave and Ashland Ave is the Polish Town in Chicago's history. Once, 90% of the population here was Polish, but now it's only 1-2%. The people are gone, and the connection with Poland can only be imagined through these two churches and the museum. 4) National Hellenic Museum 333 S Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60661, USA There are more things related to the Orthodox Church, but it's still interesting. It's a good place to spend 2 hours (p15-18). Chicago
