On the corridor, one sees the Ning Gallery Bridge, standing guard between the mountains and waters. Merging with the landscape, chasing dreams in the world of mortals. In Shouning town, the Chan Creek flows from northwest to southeast through the city, and on this less than 3 kilometers long stream, stand the Feiyun Bridge, Shengping Bridge, Xiangong Bridge, and Dengyun Bridge - four gallery bridges. This is a rare group of wooden arch bridges in China, which was listed as a national cultural heritage site in 2006. Walking downstream along Chan Creek, one immediately sees the Dengyun Bridge. The bridge was originally built during the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty, also known as Yangmei Bridge, with a total length of 33.8 meters, a width of 4.2 meters, and a span of 30.8 meters, connecting the north and south banks. 'First the bridge was built, then the village was established, and the village thus got its name from Yangmei Bridge. In 2009, due to the expansion of the eastern district of Shouning County, it was relocated to its current location,' said Zhou Hong, a staff member of the Shouning County Culture and Tourism Bureau. Venturing into the gallery house, one can see that it is a structure with four pillars and nine purlins in a mortise and tenon style, with 17 bays, 72 pillars, and a double-sloped roof overhead, with the bridge abutments at both ends built with strip stones. Under the eaves next to the pillars are wooden benches, where countless travelers from ancient to modern times must have sat or lain. Shouning has high mountains and cold waters, with a large temperature difference between day and night, so the gallery house has carved window flowers on both sides for ventilation and lighting. The window flowers are either like vases or like cattail leaf fans, each one unique. Gazing through the window flowers, the vast landscape is fully in view, and the ancient bridge complements this natural scenery beautifully.
