Qinghai Lake Guanhu International Hotel Designed by Wei Siping, Qinghai Lake Guanhu International Hotel is located in Erlangjian Scenic Area, the gateway to Qinghai Lake, at an altitude of 3,401 meters, with its back against Nanshan Mountain and facing Qinghai Lake. The main building is about 3,300 meters away from the lake, with a very wide view. "Origin and symbiosis, harmonious coexistence" The auspicious clouds have always been regarded by the local people as a symbol of good luck and a heavenly creation. The ancients would paint auspicious cloud patterns on clothing, jade pendants, and sculptures to indicate a beautiful vision for the future. The local people would also present Hada to guests from afar to express their respect and blessings. Therefore, the design team took colorful auspicious clouds and dancing Hada as the design intention, implying that Qinghai Lake Hotel is the most noble gift to people and fully demonstrating the rich local cultural features. In order to maximize the landscape and adapt to the terrain, the design team extracted the essence of Qinghai folk houses and closely integrated the architecture with the natural terrain. The three strip-shaped buildings are arranged along the contour lines and extend in line with the terrain, forming stepped buildings that gradually retreat toward the landscape, allowing every guest room and large public space to have a perfect view of the landscape. From a distance, it looks like a winding mountain range, quiet and natural. The power center is located on the south side of the main building and is covered with soil, making it disappear into the landscape and thus further highlighting the image of the main building. The design team fully considered the local culture and the particularities of the natural environment, and selected stone, metal, glass, wood and other facade materials, which were cleverly combined to form rich virtual-real contrasts and changes, and to form a unified whole, so that the building itself blends perfectly with the natural environment. The symbolic meanings of each material are fully utilized, the sense of oppression caused by the huge volume of the building is weakened, and a light visual effect is achieved. The stone effect is the local traditional building masonry style. Using modern technology, the slate is pasted on the honeycomb aluminum plate in an irregular form to achieve a natural and irregular effect on the facade. The central greenhouse is mainly composed of glass curtain walls, and the roof is planned to use a glass skylight system to reflect the transparency and openness of the public parts of the building. The roof is made of steel structure and covered with titanium zinc plates to achieve a winding, light and flexible effect. The design combines modern construction methods with local traditional culture, pursuing the harmonious unity of technological beauty, culture and nature. It takes local culture as the keynote and allows residents to return to tranquility and nature. In terms of design techniques, the designer paid attention to the application of contrasts such as virtual and real, light and heavy, high and low, plane and lines, enriching the iconic image of the building. The use of modulus runs through the entire design. The complete and harmonious overall pattern and the carefully designed architectural details fully reflect that while the building is moving towards rationality, it also pays attention to the comprehensive care of human nature, providing the entire building with a harmonious, humane, simple and pure facade style, making the building a new landmark in the city.
