Guardamar del Segura is located on the coast of Alicante province

The Segura River flows through the town, which is home to various archaeological sites such as the Phoenician city of La Fonta and the Caliphate hermitage/fortress of Las Dunas. The Municipal Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology and the Engineers Casa Mila Museum are two of the more interesting cultural sites. Guardamar also has a variety of ecologically interesting natural areas.
