Climbing Gyeongju’s Namsan Geumobong Peak

#summervacay Hiking Geumobong Peak on Namsan was like walking through a history book with a great workout thrown in. It’s not the tallest (495m), but don’t be fooled, it still makes you huff and puff in spots. The trail is super scenic, with random Buddha carvings, stone pagodas, and temple ruins just chilling along the way like it's no big deal. The path winds through forests and rocky bits, and it’s a nice balance of peaceful and challenging. You’ll probably stop a bunch, not just to catch your breath, but because there’s just so much cool stuff to look at. We kept saying “okay, last photo” and then 2 minutes later, snapping another one. The summit view? Unreal. You get this gorgeous panoramic shot of Gyeongju and beyond. We sat up there for a while, snacking and soaking it in. If you’re into hiking with a side of ancient vibes, Geumobong’s a solid choice. Would 100% do it again.
