Toyama Prefecture, Himi City! You can reach Himi City by taking the Himi Line from Takaoka City to the terminal station. This is the hometown of the famous manga artist Fujiko Fujio A (Motoo Abiko). It is a very quiet city, with statues of characters from Fujiko Fujio A's works such as the Laughing Salesman, Ninja Hattori, Kaibutsu-kun, and Pro Golfer Saru lining the streets. Walking along the statues of manga characters, you can reach Kōzenji Temple, where Fujiko Fujio A was born, and the memorial hall (admission fee 200 yen, closed only during the Japanese New Year). In the center of the bridge in the city, there is a Ninja Hattori clock. At every hour, a statue of Ninja Hattori appears, but the clock stops working from winter to March. Walking to the Himi fishing port, you can see a huge mural of Ninja Hattori. On clear days, you can see the snow-capped Tateyama Mountain Range from the fishing port (the snow on the Tateyama Mountain Range lasts from winter to March).
