【The Magnificent Blend of Han and Tibetan Architectures】One of the seven great temples in Hohhot—Xilitu Zhao, has gained influence as a Gelug sect Tibetan Buddhism monastery in Hohhot due to the fourth Xilitu's contribution to Emperor Kangxi's quelling of Galdan. Although the monastery is not large, it has many attractions. The grand prayer hall is uniquely adorned with colorful Tibetan architectural elements; the longevity white stupa built during the Qing dynasty is also exquisitely carved; and there are remnants of Ming dynasty murals in the ancient Buddha hall.
