#HongKongMuseumGuide The Hong Kong Maritime Museum is located at Pier 8 in Central. Admission is free and it showcases the maritime history of Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. Exhibition highlights: The permanent exhibition covers 15 exhibition halls, displaying more than 1,200 cultural relics, such as the Han Dynasty ceramic ship model and the 19th century "Pinging the South China Sea" scroll, which records the history of suppressing pirates; the "Maritime Silk Road" shows the trade culture from the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty; the interactive bridge simulator allows visitors to experience the fun of sailing; the "Ocean Conservation" exhibition combines VR technology to explore the underwater ecology. Special exhibitions such as "Navigational Maps and Ancient Books" display 80 rare maps and 50 books from the late Qing Dynasty, revealing the fusion of Chinese and Western maritime culture. It is a 15-minute walk from Exit A of Central Station. We recommend visiting in the morning and allowing 2 hours to avoid the museum being closed on the first two days of the Lunar New Year.
