But Filipino Chinese writer Jiang Hua disagrees with this statement. He believes that it is to commemorate the anti-slavery patriot Robert Alexander Young, also known as "Rednaxela". Although the Renas Terrace is a short path, it hides great significance. Two revolutionaries have lived here: First, Dr. Jose Rizal, the founding father of the Philippines, and his family lived at Renas Terrace No. 2 from December 1891 to June 1892. Second, Ho Chi Minh, the first President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, also known as Nguyen Tat Thanh, lived here in 1930 when he led the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Hong Kong. Kam Tong Road is the western-style mansion of Ho Kai Tong, the half-brother of the famous businessman and philanthropist Ho Tung. The house changed hands several times before it was finally purchased by the Hong Kong government and preserved for use as the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
