A 600-year-old building

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Murcia (Region) Murcia Cathedral features many Renaissance and Baroque elements, although its interior is essentially Gothic. It was built in 1394 on the site of a mosque. The foundation stone was laid by Bishop Fernando de Pedrosa. The interior is Gothic. The exterior is in Baroque style and was designed and built by Jaime Bort. It has a 95-meter-high tower and took more than two hundred years to build, with the participation of many different architects, among whom Ventura Rodríguez stands out. The Los Vélez Church is an ornate Gothic building with a vaulted ceiling and star-shaped skylights, while the Los Junterones Church is in the Renaissance style. #JanuaryGoodPlaces2025
