Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area is located in the central district of Huicheng, Huizhou City, in the southeastern part of Guangdong Province, consisting of the West Lake and Honghua Lake scenic spots, covering a total area of 20.91 square kilometers, of which the water area is 3.13 square kilometers. Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area is a national scenic area characterized by its landscape, with leisure and sightseeing as its main functions, featuring five lakes, six bridges, and eight scenic spots. On May 17, 2002, the State Council designated Huizhou West Lake as the fourth batch of national key scenic areas. In January 2003, Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area was rated as a 4A-level tourist area. On October 22, 2009, attractions such as Xiangyun Hanging List (Gaobang Mountain), Wangta Weilan (Sizhou Tower), West Lake Suji (Dongpo Garden•Sudi), Catalogue of Filial Piety (Fengzhu Garden), Bihu Book Fragrance (Fenghu Academy), and Liucui (Diancui Island) were selected as 'Huizhou's Top Ten Scenic Spots'. The geomorphology of Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area is characterized by low hills and river valleys. The northwest part, Honghua Ridge Scenic Area, has undulating hills but gentle slopes, with most elevations between 50 and 80 meters. The highest peak is Gaobang Mountain, with an elevation of 227 meters. Regarding the climate, Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area has a South Asian tropical maritime monsoon climate, with an average temperature of 19.5°C-22.5°C and an annual average rainfall of 1731 millimeters. 🌟 Transportation: To West Lake East Gate: Take bus routes 2, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24, 25, 41, 209, or Sightseeing Line 1 to Pinghu Gate Station. To Fengzhu Garden: Take bus routes 17, 29, 202, 208, 369, or K2 to Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Station. To Honghua Lake: Take bus routes 4, 14, 19, 23, 36 to Honghua Lake Station. To the Three Great Halls: Take bus routes 4, 14 to West Lake Grand Theatre Station, walk across to reach the Three Great Halls. Take bus routes 29, 36, 202, 208, 369 to the City Government Station, walk about 500 meters to reach the Three Great Halls. 🌟 'Airplane: Huizhou Pingtan Airport is about 25 kilometers from West Lake and was reopened at the end of 2009 for both military and civilian use. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is about 110 kilometers from Huizhou West Lake, and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is about 150 kilometers away. 🌟 Tickets: The area is open for free, but don't park in the scenic area as it's quite expensive!
