Gazhane Museum

Visiting the Gazhane Museum is a truly wonderful experience. This unique museum has a fascinating history, having been established in the late 19th century to provide energy to the Anatolian side of Istanbul. After the power plant was closed in 1993, it underwent extensive restoration by the Istanbul Municipality and was transformed into a museum in 2021. Located in the heart of the Kadıköy district, the museum offers more than just a traditional museum experience. It has become a vibrant community center, providing a stage, library, and workspace for young people. The museum also hosts various exhibitions and events, and is open 24 hours a day, creating a lively and dynamic atmosphere. One of the highlights of the museum is its garden, which is home to many adorable cats. It is a peaceful and relaxing place where you can unwind and enjoy the surroundings. Although it is a museum, the beautiful and serene environment makes it a great place for a leisurely stroll. Highly recommended.
