How to Get There: Stay near Izumisano Station the night before. In the morning, hop on the Nankai bus (about one per hour) and ride to the final stop “Inunaki-san”—you’ll mostly be sharing the ride with sweet local grandpas and grandmas. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. The Hike: • Round trip: ~3 km • Trail is easy, low elevation, no tough climbs, and best of all—almost no people! I only passed 6–7 hikers total. • In spring, the lush greenery and flowing mountain streams feel like a dream. Super refreshing and photogenic. What to Wear: • Quick-dry clothes, long sleeves/pants, and bring bug spray! The tiny mountain insects love visitors… Hot Spring Bonus: Before heading back, stop at Fudouguchikan Onsen right by the bus stop. • ¥900 for day-use, towels extra (bring cash!) • They’ve got open-air baths with good water quality and a peaceful mountain view. • Also—don’t skip their cookies at the lobby shop.
