Originally, the impressive wheel tracks extended for over ten miles. In the 1960s, about two kilometers of tracks were still preserved from Xinzhuang Village to the Guandi Temple in Tianjing Pass Village. Later, these were damaged during road construction. The remaining 500 meters of tracks south of Tianjing Pass Village also disappeared in the 1980s when villagers mined for aluminum, with only about 100 meters surviving due to buildings protecting the ground. Currently, two excavated sections totaling about 20 meters reveal six ancient wheel tracks with a total width of 8.5 meters. Each track is 14-26 centimeters wide and 20 centimeters deep. According to research, these wheel tracks are over 3,500 years old. The distance between the wheels measures 138.6 centimeters, which perfectly matches the "standard gauge" established by Emperor Qin Shi Huang after China's unification. These tracks are important relics of the ancient battlefield at Tianjing Pass and representative cultural artifacts of the Jincheng section of the Tea Horse Road being nominated for World Cultural Heritage status. 📌 Small Tips: Free parking available
