Quyang Lake is quite large, and the common ways to enjoy it are either by driving around the lake or taking a scenic boat from the visitor center. However, driving around the lake takes quite a long time. If you want to save time and see the most beautiful scenery, you can skip the visitor center and navigate directly to Baqi Tun. Climb up to the Baqi Tun viewing platform to overlook Quyang Lake. After coming down from the viewing platform, take a boat tour of the lake, and then you can head back. P Navigation: Baqi Viewing Pavilion Located in Baqi Tun, this village is not much developed, there are no homestays, but there is a village history museum where you can sit and rest. The scenery here is very good, and the viewing platform is very photogenic. P Parking: There is a small parking lot in Baqi Tun, and parking is free. wG Toilet: As soon as you enter Baqi Tun, there is a public toilet on the right-hand side. Viewing Platform: A little further from the parking lot, you can see the stairs. The stairs are quite shaky, and it takes about 15 minutes to climb up, with pavilions along the way to rest. The location of these stairs is excellent, as you can enjoy the view all the way up, with the scenery changing at every step, which is very photogenic. The view from the top of the mountain is even more open, and it is said that the scenery is better in the morning and evening. I came at noon, with the big sun and nice clouds, but the light was quite flat. The light would be more beautiful in the morning and evening. Boat Tour: Next to the parking lot is the boat dock, which is operated by the villagers. The price is much cheaper than the scenic area's boats, costing a total of 80 yuan for four people to charter a boat. You can also choose to take a short or long loop, with the short loop taking half an hour and the long loop one hour. We were short on time, so we took a short loop. After climbing the viewing platform, it was nice to sit on the boat, enjoy the breeze, and rest. I highly recommend taking a boat tour. The villagers' boats are open on all sides with railings and a roof for shade. The view from the villagers' boat is more open, whether for taking photos or enjoying the lake and mountains. As for the scenic area's boats, they cost 68 yuan per person, and the boarding point is not in Baqi Tun but at the Quyang Lake Visitor Center. The scenic area's boats are slightly enclosed with glass on all sides, and the experience of enjoying the lake view is not as good as the boats in Baqi Tun. Around the Lake Self-Driving: If you want to drive around the lake, there is a section on the north side that is not very good. Starting from Baqi Tun, after reaching Dongfeng Tun, the road becomes very narrow with very few passing points. However, it is not a one-way road; some people drive around the lake clockwise, others counterclockwise. When cars meet, they have to see who is closer to the last passing point and that person has to reverse. Reversing on a narrow road is a real test of driving skills. The road on the south side is much wider, allowing two-way traffic. Eating: We ate at the Quyang Lake Restaurant, located in Quyang Town. There is a wide variety of dishes, the bitter melon omelet is delicious, but the taste of other dishes is average. The main attraction is the beautiful scenery, as it's a lakeside restaurant.
