On the side of the Changwan Highway lies a pristine village

After picking up the rented car from Nanchang Station, we headed straight for Poyang Lake. We chose the Changwan Highway instead of the expressway, just to pass through the lush green rice paddies and experience the early summer charm of the lakeside countryside. We drove to the boundless Junshan Lake. The specialty hairy crabs were obviously not in season, so the town was deserted. Unknowingly, we arrived next to a small village in Nanchang County. The emerald green rice fields were right next to the ponds, and the sky brought bursts of light rain, making the weather cool and perfect for a walk in the village. Although the season for rapeseed flowers had passed and the lotuses had not yet arrived, this ancient village still hid picturesque pastoral scenes. A village lady tending to her yard smiled at us, speaking in the local dialect that we could barely understand, and pointed out the vigorously growing peppers and eggplants in the fields. For those who grew up in big cities, the idyllic farming life and rural charm of this hidden paradise are often envied, little knowing the hardships behind the farmers' lives.
