Fishing on Koh Tao, learning the way of life of fishermen & tasting sashimi

#TravelEco On this trip, I got to try something new, “fishing” on Koh Tao. I must say that it was a fun experience and I got to learn about the fishermen’s way of life up close. The fishermen took me on a small boat from the beach and taught me everything from how to use the rods, how to make bait, to the rhythm of fishing. While sitting in the middle of the sea, the sound of the gentle waves and the cool wind were the perfect time to focus. It was like sitting still and training my mind not to rush. In the end, I actually caught a fish! I was so happy. The fishermen cut the fish fresh and made it into sashimi with a really awesome seafood sauce. It was so delicious that I will never forget it. The taste of the real sea without much seasoning, but I felt the dedication in every step. It was another experience that made me understand the simple but valuable way of life of the people here.
