Kyoto is home to many famous plum blossom viewing spots, but Jonangu Shrine is particularly recommended. The weeping plum blossoms and fallen camellias create a picturesque and gorgeous spring scene. The best time to see the plum blossoms at Jonangu Shrine is usually from late February to mid-March. The weeping plum blossoms in particular often reach their peak around March 1st.
