Originally, this area was the palace of King Athitayarat. Later, it was offered as a temple for use in Buddhism. And there were many renovations during the reigns of the Lanna kings, such as Phraya Mangrai and King Tilokarat.    ⸻ 🛕 Architectural Highlights • Phra Borommathat Hariphunchai: A Sri Lankan-style pagoda covered in gold, approximately 46 meters high. Inside, there are relics of the Lord Buddha, including the crown relic, the sternum relic, the finger relic, and a bowl full of minor relics.   • Khong Gate and Pair of Lions: The eastern entrance has a Khong Gate with a pair of lions standing with their mouths open, decorated with royal costumes, following the ancient belief that lions were used to guard the temple.  • Ho Trai and Ho Bell: The Ho Trai is a wooden building raised from the ground, used to store the Tripitaka. The Bell Tower has a large bell.
