The historic Albert Docks

One of the best examples of urban regeneration in the United Kingdom can be found on the banks of the River Mersey at Liverpool’s Albert Docks. Once a thriving port during linking Lancashire’s mill towns to the sea the Dock now plays host to a wide range of tourist activities. Amongst the usual line up of souvenir shops, bars and restaurants lie some outstanding museums such as Liverpool’s own satellite of the Tate and the International slavery museum where the city comes to terms with its dark past. #liverpool #albertdocks
