Khao Chakrok Temple

Wat Khao Charok, Lopburi Province The mountain looks like a crocodile's head. On the top, there is a temple and a Buddha statue. Khao Charok has a story according to the legend of Lopburi that there was a Chinese merchant named Kong Chin who traveled to trade by junk and met a beautiful woman named Nang Nong Prachan. They fell in love and asked for her father's hand in marriage. When the procession of the dowry boats was approaching Lopburi, when the young man who was Nang Nong Prachan's lover found out, he transformed into a very large crocodile and blocked the procession and destroyed the dowry boat. While Nang Nong Prachan was waiting for the procession and saw what was happening, she was shocked and fell into the water. She drowned. When the young crocodile sank the dowry boat and saw his lover fall into the water, he tried to swim to help but ran out of energy before he could and drowned, becoming a mountain named Khao Takhe or Khao Charok. #Travelwithtrip2024 #WatKhaoCharok
