Day Trip from Maastricht: Maasmechelen in Belgium

Went on a day trip today from Maastricht (straight bus 63 from Maastricht), highly recommended. Hiked a total 12km from 12pm-5pm at Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen in Maasmechelen, it can be done as a day trip and there are mountain biking and hiking trails (refer to the photo for the hiking trails) of various levels of difficulty and distances. The hike (yellow route) was quite doable, and mostly flat without much elevation and can be completed in around an hour or so. Recommended and a nice hike with many lovely sights and trees to behold, not too cold either in November. As there’s not much food options, highly recommended to bring water and enough snacks to last you for the hike.
