Medellin, the second largest city in Colombia

Medellín, the second largest city in the South American country Colombia, had a population of approximately 2.57 million in 2020. The population density is 6,745 people per square kilometer, almost the same as Hong Kong. The urban area is 1,495 meters above sea level. The buildings extend from the city center to the surrounding hillsides and cover a very large area. The cityscape here is completely different from the capital Bogota. Looking down at the entire city from a high vantage point, you can see almost all skyscrapers. The difference is that in some places in the old city, because of the lush vegetation and trees, you can't see the concrete jungle in the city at all. This is the Colombian city with the most skyscrapers. The building density in the urban area is so high that the buildings on the distant hillside are not so obvious during the day, but they are clearly visible after the lights are turned on in the evening.
