The frescoes in Mileševo ​​Monastery are one of the masterpieces of Serbian medieval art. Although his remains were later dug up and burned by the rulers of the Ottoman Empire, one of Saint Sava’s arms is still preserved. •White Angel Fresco: The 13th-century fresco "White Angel" is one of the monastery's great treasures. It is located on the only gable that has not collapsed. It is based on the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible and depicts an angel sitting on an empty tomb informing believers of Jesus' resurrection. It is the pinnacle of medieval Orthodox art and a symbol of peace. Its image was recorded in the first satellite TV image transmission between Europe and the United States in 1962 and sent into space. • Architectural style: The central building of the monastery, the Church of the Ascension, adopts the same early Serbian architectural style as the Studenica Monastery.
