🇮🇹Explore the UNESCO Nuragic Civilization in Sardinia

"Su Nuraxi" is a well-preserved Nuragic site located in Barumini, Sardinia, Italy. It is one of the most famous examples of the ancient Nuragic civilization, which existed from about 1800 BC to around 200 AD, and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. "Nuraxi" refers to the main feature of the site, the "nuraghe", an ancient megalithic tower structure built by the Nuragic people. Su Nuraxi consists of a village with a large central nuraghe tower and a group of circular huts surrounding it. The nuraghe was built from large blocks of basalt stone and has a complex network of rooms and passages, suggesting that it was intended for both defense and communal living. The site provides important clues to understanding the architectural techniques, social structure, and lifestyle of the Nuragic civilization.
