Pay respect to the great monk Luang Pu La of Phu Chok Ko Temple.

Wat Banphotkiri (Phu Chok Ko) is located on a mountain in Nong Sung District, Mukdahan Province. You have to climb 260 steps. This temple used to be the residence of Luang Pu La Khempatto, a senior monk in the Vipassana meditation tradition. After Luang Pu La passed away, the “Khempat Chedi” was built to contain his relics. It was completed in 1999. It is a bell-shaped chedi. The upper floor is a museum showing the history, works, and personal belongings.
