Visiting the Marriage Market at People’s Park in Shanghai was such an interesting experience! It’s incredible to see how parents get so hands-on in their children’s love lives. The park was filled with parents standing next to “resumes” of their children, detailing education, jobs, and other key information. I noticed flags from other countries on some of the signs—probably to emphasize any international experience. One surprising detail was the lack of pictures on these resumes.
