Wat Borom Phuttharam—a proud heritage in the rain

Walking through Wat Borom Phuttharam in the rainy season feels like time has stopped, amidst the ruins of what used to be a royal temple of the dynasty. The old walls are damp from the rain, the land that once supported the prosperity of Ayutthaya has water droplets flowing through as if telling stories of the past. The remaining structure of the chapel stands tall, amidst the curtain of rain that carries memories. Although time has changed, this temple is still alive. On a rainy day, the image of the past is clearer, through the sound of water dripping on bricks, through the quiet atmosphere that makes us think back to our ancestors who built this temple. Walking in the rain helps us see the beauty of this place from a different perspective. The more the rain falls, the more we feel the history of Wat Borom Phuttharam and are proud that this heritage is still here for us to experience.
