Porto 3-Day 4-Night Travel Itinerary and Tips Review

Porto is a small yet charming city, with every alley exuding a unique European vibe. I visited for 3 nights and 4 days, traveling from Lisbon to Porto by train. Upon arrival, I headed straight to the Serra do Pilar Monastery viewpoint to take in the cityscape, which featured stunning red rooftops and the Douro River. I stayed at an Airbnb near 'Ribeira,' which was conveniently close to night view spots, making evening strolls delightful. On the first day, I strolled along Ribeira Street and the Douro Riverbank, and took a €6 cruise tour. On the second day, I visited Livraria Lello (the Harry Potter bookstore), São Bento Station, and Clérigos Tower, and spent the afternoon at 'Café Majestic,' enjoying traditional Pastel de Nata with a cup of coffee. On the third day, I joined a wine tour at 'Sandeman,' which included a guided tasting of Port wine—highly recommended. On the last day, I shopped for souvenirs and bought affordable local food at the supermarket 'Pingo Doce.' Overall, the cost of living in Porto is relatively low compared to other European cities, and walking is preferable to public transportation due to its small-town feel. However, the city has many hills, so comfortable sneakers are a must. The weather in April was clear and pleasantly cool, perfect for traveling.
