Riding Horses for 30 Yuan in Huitengxile, Great Photos Even Without Visiting Huanghuagou

My previous notes shared our family’s travel itinerary in Inner Mongolia, which included many small attractions. Today, I’ll share the guide for exploring Huitengxile Grassland. Due to tight schedules, we arrived at the grassland from Hadan Volcano around 6 PM, so we skipped the Huanghuagou Scenic Area. Our plan was to finish grassland photography and horseback riding before sunset. 📸 A perfect spot featuring grasslands, windmills, lakes, and horses—I searched long for this free photo spot. See Figure 13 for the exact location. 🐴 North of Huanghuagou’s north gate, there’s a hillside where I found a guide named "Dong San." Since it was late, I negotiated for a gentle horse to take my child on a short ride for 30 yuan. His fourth-grade son led the horse, and after chatting, my kid quickly befriended him, saying he wanted to grow up strong like his brother to lead big horses too. See Figure 14 for details. 🌇 After photos and a short ride, it got dark. Sadly, there was no sunset that day, so we headed back to Hohhot.
