Play in Quanzhou - Quanzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum

Quanzhou is a treasure trove of intangible cultural heritage in China, with five items included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. It is the only city in China with three types of intangible cultural heritage listed by UNESCO. 1. Location: Quanzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum 2. Time: 9:00–17:00 3. Duration: 1.5 hours 4. Price: Free Tips: 1️⃣. The museum is located inside the stadium and is quite hidden. You can make a reservation one day in advance or on the day of your visit. There are regular guided tours in the museum. The whole tour takes about 1.5 hours. 2️⃣. The museum is not large, but it houses many precious "intangible cultural heritage" exhibits. It has 36 national, provincial, and municipal intangible cultural heritage projects in Quanzhou, 22 physical displays, and a total of more than 400 exhibits. 3️⃣. The exhibition is concentrated on the 2nd to 5th floors. The second floor introduces various traditional crafts in Quanzhou, including Hui'an stone carving, paper cutting, Jiangjia puppet head carving, Hui'an wood carving, Yongchun paper weaving painting, Quanzhou paper art, Quanzhou cake decoration, Quanzhou colored paper art, Quanzhou lanterns, Quanzhou cloth carving painting, and Quanzhou tongcao art. Some crafts have live demonstrations and interactive participation. The third floor introduces Minnan customs and ancient culture, including clothing, architecture, traditional dance, sports, acrobatics, games, medicine, storytelling, Nanyin, Shaolin legends, string puppets, and glove puppets, with live performances at designated times. The fourth floor showcases various intangible cultural heritage achievements, including lacquer thread carving, Buddha statue carving, Minnan traditional residential construction, watertight compartment Fuzhou shipbuilding, Tieguanyin tea making, Dehua porcelain firing, Quanzhou Jin Cangxiu art, Quanzhou tin carving, Yongchun lacquer basket making, and Anxi bamboo and rattan weaving, all with superb craftsmanship. The fifth floor is a temporary exhibition, currently displaying New Year folk paintings. 4️⃣.
