But the most profound moment for me was standing at the Samadhi (memorial) of Shivaji Maharaj—surrounded by silence and mist, it felt like time stood still. You can either trek up (recommended if you're fit and want the full experience) or take the ropeway, which offers a breathtaking aerial view of the lush green valleys below. The best time to visit is between October and March, when the climate is cool, the skies are clear, and the Sahyadris are blanketed in green and gold hues.
