Cultural historical exploration along the Suzhou Creek

Avoid the maddening crowds and explore a route of Shanghai history along the Suzhou creek. Pass by war memorials, beautifully restored cultural buildings from different eras of Shanghai. The path is easy to walk and mostly pedestrianised. You get to see glimpses of the Pearl TV tower as the river bends and meanders. Great for unusual photo opportunities. The route passes by interesting coffee shops and restaurants for the small breaks needed to enjoy the view. #thingstodo #shanghai #citywalk #蘇州河

I visited the Foursagade, the filming location for The Eight Hundred, and walked along the Suzhou River. Although there is not much difference between the scenery on either side of the river, the wall peppered with bullet holes remains rather unsettling. This may be why the Foursagade is still there.
