In Shantou! Stayed at the most delicious treasure hotel

On the second day of staying at Chaos Jewelry Intercity Hotel Shantou, I slept so comfortably that I missed both breakfast and lunch~~ The bedding and mattress were truly amazing! By the time I got up, it was already lunchtime. I heard the restaurant on the second floor of the hotel was quite good, so I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the meal completely exceeded expectations—it was so refined, like an unexpected "delight" during the trip! The restaurant space was very open, and we chose a table by the window. Sunlight poured in through the full glass wall, and the ambiance alone was a big plus. Outside the window was the inner bay waterfront, and as we ate while gazing out, it felt like we were blending into this natural and relaxing environment while savoring delicious food. The dishes offered great value for money—authentic and classic home-style Chaoshan cuisine. I heard they specially hired a Chaoshan chef, and it definitely showed! The flavors were very refined. I highly recommend the braised platter—it was incredibly fragrant, even better than the one I had at a famous old restaurant the night before! Another delightful surprise was the Nanshan cuisine infused with Zen wellness. It was my first time hearing about "old fire porridge," which is different from what we typically think of—it's cooked with "old fire water," resulting in a uniquely magical texture. The hotel service was also exceptionally attentive. When serving dishes, they would advise on the best way to enjoy them and even replaced our bowls with warm ones. The whole experience was unhurried, with just the right pace. Compared to rushing around for check-ins, I much prefer this kind of leisurely lunch where I can sit back, eat slowly, and daydream. I highly recommend that if you're staying at Intercity, take a noon to enjoy a meal at the hotel and savor your own little moment of relaxation.
