A Family-Friendly Ancient Trail with Stream Tracing Fun - Pingxi Ancient Trail

Pingxi Ancient Trail is located at the border of Shuangxi in New Taipei and Toucheng in Yilan. It is part of the Central Route of the Danlan Ancient Trail and was originally a logging road. The trail is flat and easy to walk. The entrance to Pingxi Ancient Trail is at No. 62, Wushan. A 5-minute walk will lead you to the water. The trail is flat and spacious, with beautiful and lush Japanese cedar forests on both sides. Walking along the Pingxi Stream, you can see clear water with fish and shrimp leisurely swimming. There are two stream crossings along the trail, with the deepest water only reaching the calves. It is a great route for summer hiking and water play, where you can enjoy the tranquility that is hard to find in a busy urban life. The endpoint has a viewing and resting area where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Guishan Island against the sea and sky. The Pingxi Ancient Trail is 1.5 kilometers long, mostly flat and wide, making it suitable for a family hiking trip.
