Maru-Ryō Fresh Fish Shop in Taipei.

Maru-Ryō Fresh Fish Shop is a very famous store in the Yongle Market of Dadaocheng, specializing in sashimi and sushi. Even on weekdays, the shop is always bustling with people, with separate areas for dine-in and take-out queues. Despite the abundance of seats, a short wait is still necessary. During this visit, we ordered sea urchin, salmon roe, fin edge, avocado sushi, and the shop-recommended black tuna sashimi. The sea urchin sushi is the most recommendable, with its generous topping of sea urchin that is fresh, sweet, and irresistibly delicious! The salmon roe had a slightly different taste, with a hint of yuzu aroma; the fin edge had a perfect balance of fat and texture; the avocado sushi was surprisingly creamy, and with the addition of shiso leaves, the flavor was even richer. However, the black tuna sashimi is not recommended due to the excessive amount of sinew, resulting in a poor texture, and at a price of 300 TWD for 2 pieces, it really isn't worth it. The assorted sashimi seems to be a better recommendation. For dine-in customers, spending over 250 TWD per person entitles you to unlimited miso soup, which you can serve yourself at the stall. The soup contains salmon meat and hot pot ingredients, but the salmon needs to be fished out from the bottom. Overall, the prices here are quite reasonable, and the food is very fresh. Just the soup alone is worth the unlimited refills, making it an exceptional value. If you want to taste fresh and affordable delicacies, you definitely shouldn't miss this shop!
