It’s a charming city

#celebrateit Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, is the largest city in Central Asia. It is a multi-ethnic city where various ethnic groups such as Uzbeks, Russians, and Koreans coexist. The name stands for "stone city" and has flourished as an intersection of the Silk Road for more than 2,000 years. Tashkent is divided into the old town and the new city, symbolising history and modernity. The new city is green centred on Timur Square, and in recent years, high-rise buildings have been lined up. The old town is centred on the Cheolsu Bazaar, with the 16th-century Kkardash Medrese and Juma Mosque. The first subway opened in Central Asia in 1977, and the beautiful decoration of each station is like a work of art.
