My experience at Gajoen Hotel, Tokyo

In 1928, a new Tokyo treasure opened its gates. Hotel Gajoen Tokyo promised cuisine, hospitality and surroundings so otherworldly that it became known as the ‘Palace of the Dragon God’. It fast became a hotspot for luxury society weddings and social events. Today, the original retreat has been carefully transformed. A boutique hotel immersed in omotenashi hospitality that continues to welcome wedding parties and global travellers to Tokyo. We visited Hotel Gajoen to explore their Hinamatsuri exhibit and it did not disappoint. It is a great time to learn about the Girls' Day festival in Japan and see displays of years' worth of Hinamatsuri dolls from all over the country. The exhibit is set up in rooms that jut off from the historic 100-step staircase in the hotel. Definitely a must see if you are visiting Japan in March. Plus you can try on kimono at the last stop and they will very gladly take pictures for you. Hotel Gajoen is not only a great place to stay but also offers areas to relax and dine or to have afternoon tea. Also make sure to pay the historical part of the hotel a visit.
