Wroclaw: tower views of city

The University of Wrocław Museum is housed in the Baroque main building and includes several historic halls and exhibition rooms. The museum has different exhibition areas on 4 levels and you can choose which parts to visit with access to all 4 areas costing 28 stz. 🏛️ The 4 Main Exhibition Levels Level 1 — Historical Exhibitions • Permanent exhibitions about the history of the University (1702–present). • Displays of:• Rector’s sceptres (1702 onward) • Rector’s robes from the 19th century • Archival documents • Scientific instruments and early academic equipment • This level sets the historical context of the university’s development under Austrian, Prussian, German, and Polish rule. Level 2 — Aula Leopoldina (Ceremonial Hall) • The most famous room in the building: a magnificent Baroque ceremonial hall. • Features:• Frescoes by Johann Christoph Handke • Sculptures and architectural decoration by Christophorus Tausch • A richly decorated podium and throne for academic ceremonies • Still used for major university events Level 3 — Oratorium Marianum (Concert Hall) • Originally a Baroque chapel, later transformed into a concert hall. • Known for:• Rich stucco decoration • Historical musical performances • Warm acoustics • Also used for academic and cultural events. Level 4 — Mathematical Tower (Observation Level) • A historic astronomical observatory. • Contains:• A collection of astronomical instruments, including: sundials and A 14th‑century astrolabe • A 1699 sky globe • An 18th‑century equatorial sundial • Galileo‑style circular instruments The top platform offers panoramic views of Wrocław and so worth a visit for these views. It is in easy walking distance from the town square and while it seems that most people seem to visit only to climb up to the viewing platform, there are other interesting parts to visit before the viewing platform.
